Suppan has GWRBI in Crew's sweep of Bucs

Talk about helping the team win - Brewers starter Jeff Suppan drew a bases-loaded walk Sunday to force the game-winning run in. The Brewers hold on to sweep the Pirates Sunday. Crew win second straight at home

It wasn't a walk in the park, but the Brewers won their second straight game Saturday over the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Crew scored two in the third before the Bucs scored three in the fifth to temporarily take the lead. The Brewers were able to slowly add more runs before finally beating Pittsburgh, 7-3. The Crew will try for a sweep Sunday at 1:05PM CDT.

For the second straight game, Brewers' 1B Prince Fielder hit a 3-run home run in the first inning Friday. Unlike the previous day against the Reds, the Crew held on to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates. The final score was 8-6. Game two is Saturday at 6:05PM CDT.

Crew gets swept by the lowly Bucs

It doesn't get much worse than this. The Brewers were swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates Wednesday. Wasn't it just earlier this year that the Crew OWNED the Pirates? Brewers get soaked in Pittsburgh

After a two hour rain delay Monday in Pittsburgh, the Brewers were finally able to get under way with the Pirates. Newly acquired IF Felipe Lopez was a late addition to the starting lineup (thanks to the long delay) and promptly singled in his first plate appearance for the Crew. Then Lopez was promptly picked off first base. Later in the first inning, the Brewers scored the first run --- and that would be the only lead they would have. The Pirates came back with four runs in the bottom of the first on their way to snapping the losing streak against the Brewers. The final score was 8-5. Game two is Tuesday at 6:05PM CDT.
