A sad day in radio...

Radio legend Paul Harvey, 90, passed away today.

Brewers sell 104,000 single-day tickets for record

The Milwaukee Brewers sold 104,000 single-day tickets today to break the record of 98,000 tickets set last year. Wow. Let's hope they do better than last year also...

Xbox ring of death solved

Those of you with a Xbox 360 may have experienced the "red ring of death." This video from Yahoo may help you out.

Talk about multi-tasking...

A 39-year old Ohio woman was driving children to school in a minivan, breastfeeding another child and talking on a cell phone --- at the same time --- with wet roads. Now that's multi-tasking!

Siegfried and Roy stage comeback...

Illusionists Siegfried and Roy stage a one-night comeback tonight for charity. This will be the first performance for the duo since a tiger named Montecore mauled Roy Horn in October 2003.

Seahawks also interested in Cole...

The Seattle Seahawks have also shown an interest in free agent DT Colin Cole, as they have scheduled an official visit with the player. Paging Ted Thompson...paging Ted Thompson...WAKE UP ALREADY! The other 31 teams are wheeling and dealing here!!!

Beer during Christmas shopping?

The House of Harley-Davidson in Greenfield is seeking a temporary liquor license to sell "fermented malt beverages" at a "men's shopping night" on Dec. 10th.

I live approx. a mile and a half from the House and drinking while shopping 2 blocks from a high school is not a good idea.

Dawkins now a Bronco

The Denver Broncos have signed Pro Bowl S Brian Dawkins, who has spent his entire 13 year career so far with the Philadelphia Eagles. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Although Dawkins is 36, he will definitely bring his hard hits to the Mile High City (and be worth their while). The Broncos lacked that intensity and leadership in 2008 with the absence of another Pro Bowl safety, John Lynch.

I really wish the Packers would quit farting around and get serious about acquiring someone.

Cassel and Vrabel traded to Chefs...uhhh...Chiefs

The New England Patriots Saturday traded QB Matt Cassel and LB Mike Vrabel to the Kansas City Chiefs, in exchange for the 34th pick in April's NFL Draft (high second round).

News of Vrabel moving leaked out Friday, but it is now learned that Cassel is now part of the deal. This deal is contigent on both players reporting to the Chiefs and passing their physicals.

Cassel was designated a "franchise player" on Feb. 5th and signed a 1 year, $14.65 million tender. I wouldn't be surprised if a contract extension has already been worked out, with financial terms not disclosed.

Cassel started his first game at QB since high school during Week 2 of the 2008 NFL season after QB Tom Brady was lost for the year in the Patriots' first game.

Counsell's new stance...

Milwaukee Brewers IF Craig Counsell is changing his batting stance, at the urging of hitting coach Dale Sveum. I always thought holding the bat above your head looked funny...

Cole going to Bucs?

It seems that Green Bay Packers DT Colin Cole, an unrestricted free agent, will sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers soon.

I guess those lawyers will have to shoot another commercial again...

Where's my NFL Network?

Message to Time Warner Cable and NFL Network: Can't we all just get along? Please?

Give him the fish already!

This commercial is already starting to get on my nerves...

Will Leonhard follow Scott and Ryan?

Former Badger S Jim Leonhard will visit with the Jets. Will he follow Bart Scott and Rex Ryan? Hmmm, I wonder if Ray Lewis has a visit scheduled...

Bart Scott to follow coach to Big Apple?

It looks like LB Bart Scott will be following coach Rex Ryan up I-95 to be part of the "mean green."

UPDATE (Feb. 27, 8:29 PM): It happened.

Pacman needs a real dose of reality...

Adam "Pacman" Jones, CB formerly of the Dallas Cowboys, is set to appear in a "reality" show. Can he do any more damage to his "reputation?" We'll see April 27 on Spike TV...

Packers quiet out of the free agency gate...

So far, the Green Bay Packers have been quiet on the NFL free agency period. I know it's only day one, but when you switch from a 4-3 defense to a 3-4, you might need to pick up a few groceries Ted. Are those crickets I'm hearing north of here?

Kohl's to open eight stores

Kohl's Corp., which operates Kohl's Department stores, is opening eight new stores on March 4th. Sounds like the economy might be improving...

Wish more people would speak out...

Ron Rutkowski of Greenfield, WI should be commended for saying that the City of Greenfield should spend their piece of the pie on American products and services. Way to go, Ron!

In with Sage, out with Gus...

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and.....Gus??? Something doesn't sound right...

The Minnesota Vi-Qu.....umm...Vikings acquired QB Sage Rosenfels. This was the second year in a row that the Purple team northwest of here tried to get him.

What does that mean? Let's see...musical chairs...not getting rid of the young project Tarvaris Jackson. That means that, most likely, the head-butter Gus Frerotte is Out!

TE Baker looks to Brady instead of Favre?

Speaking of moving up I-95, TE Chris Baker moved up to Foxborough.

Recession? What recession?

Today begins the NFL free agency meat market. By 6:00 AM EST, a 7-year, $100 million deal was already hammered out.

Is Manny Ramirez feeling the pain of a recession? Not a chance!

President Obama, we don't need a stimulus package. If Ramirez can turn down $25 million this year and Albert Haynesworth is guaranteed about $41 million on his new deal, this economy is just cruising right along...
