Cassel and Vrabel traded to Chefs...uhhh...Chiefs

The New England Patriots Saturday traded QB Matt Cassel and LB Mike Vrabel to the Kansas City Chiefs, in exchange for the 34th pick in April's NFL Draft (high second round).

News of Vrabel moving leaked out Friday, but it is now learned that Cassel is now part of the deal. This deal is contigent on both players reporting to the Chiefs and passing their physicals.

Cassel was designated a "franchise player" on Feb. 5th and signed a 1 year, $14.65 million tender. I wouldn't be surprised if a contract extension has already been worked out, with financial terms not disclosed.

Cassel started his first game at QB since high school during Week 2 of the 2008 NFL season after QB Tom Brady was lost for the year in the Patriots' first game.
