Cubs 2, Brewers 0
Actor Patrick Swayze died Monday at his home in Los Angeles. He was 57.
Way too funny! A widdle wrist injury ended Bears LB Brian Urlacher's season after the Packers put a beat down on him Sunday night. Time to retire Urlacher! And take that aging hack Favre with you!

Pack stick it to rival Bears to open season

It was sure a wild one Sunday night at Lambeau Field. One team threw four interceptions, direct snapped a punt to a running back and pretty much tried to rely on their defense all night. That team was the Chicago Bears.

Then there was the Packers. Only blemish was Aaron Rodgers getting sacked in the end zone for a safety. The Packers win the latest in the oldest rivalry by a score of 21-15. Al Harris sealed the game by intercepting the ball from Jay Cutler. I actually told some co-workers at work (who are Bear fans) that Cutler would throw four picks.

The next game for the Packers is Sunday, September 20 at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. Game time is 12:00PM CDT on CBS (regional).

Crew completes sweep over Snakes

The Brewers swept the Arizona Diamondbacks Sunday by winning, 5-3. The Crew now travel to Wrigley Field in Chicago for four games. Game one is Monday at 7:05PM CDT.

Crew continues offensive barrage in desert

The Brewers continued their offensive barrage in Phoenix on Saturday as they beat the Diamondbacks, 9-2. The Crew go for a sweep Sunday at 3:10PM CDT.

Badgers go double OT against Bulldogs

It wasn't pretty, but the Wisconsin Badgers were able to beat the Fresno State Bulldogs by a score of 34-31 in two overtimes. The Badgers final non-conference game (other than Hawaii after Thanksgiving) is at home against the Division I-AA Wofford Terriers. The game is Saturday, September 19 at 11:00AM CDT. It will be shown on the Big Ten Network.

Subway restaurants stopped selling pizzas

I stopped at a Pilot truck stop in Remington, Indiana late Friday night and decided to order a couple mini pizzas from the 24-hour Subway located inside. I come to find out that the corporate heads decided to stop offering the pizzas about a week earlier. This greatly disappointed me. The pizzas were selling fairly well at the restaurants I visited.

Crew comes out swinging in desert

After a humiliating series at home against the Cardinals, the Brewers were able to find their offensive game Friday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Brewers won by a score of 6-3. Game two is Saturday at 7:10PM CDT.

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Cards complete sweep over Crew

The Cardinals jumped out with five runs Wednesday before the Crew plated their first run. The final score was Cardinals 5, Brewers 1 as the Cards complete the sweep at Miller Park. The Brewers have a day off Thursday before taking on the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix over the weekend. Game one is Friday at 8:40PM CDT.

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Parra exits early, Cards take game two

Brewers starter Manny Parra exited the game Tuesday with a neck injury. It was up to the bullpen from the second inning on. Kind of scary when you think about it. The Brewers led 3-0 going into the sixth inning against the division leaders. The Cards would chip away -- eventually winning the game in the ninth inning off of the Crew's closer, Trevor Hoffman. The Cardinals take game two by a score of 4-3. The Brewers will try to avoid a sweep on Wednesday at 1:05PM CDT.

Monday, September 7, 2009

Crew gets shut out at home on Labor Day

The Brewers opened their series with the St. Louis Cardinals Monday with a Labor Day matinee at Miller Park. Unfortunately, like most of the nation, the Brewers offense also took the day off. The Cards shut out the Crew by a score of 3-0. Game two in the three-game series against the division leaders is Tuesday at 7:05PM CDT.

Crew needs triple play, extra innings to avoid sweep

The Brewers avoided being swept at home by the San Francisco Giants Sunday with the help of a 5-4-3 triple play in the sixth inning. Prince Fielder also hit a solo walk-off home run. The final score was 2-1 in 12 innings. The Crew next host the St. Louis Cardinals for three games. Game one is Monday at 1:05PM CDT.

Saturday, September 5, 2009

Badgers put Huskies away in home opener

The Wisconsin Badgers football team opened up with a win Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium over the Northern Illinois Huskies. Even though the final score was 28-20, it was 28-6 after three quarters. The next game is Saturday, Sept. 12 at 11:00AM CDT. They play the Fresno State Bulldogs on ESPN.

Brewers try, can't defeat Giants on Fox

The Brewers tried to fight back Saturday, but just couldn't beat the San Francisco Giants on Fox. Once again, the final score was 3-2. The Crew will try to avoid a sweep at 1:05PM CDT on Sunday.

Packers trade Moll, release 18, place 4 on IR

The Green Bay Packers Saturday traded OL Tony Moll to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for DB Derrick Martin.

They also released 18 players, including QB Brian Brohm.

In addition, they placed 4 players on injured reserve. This includes draft bust Justin Harrell.

You can view all the cuts and IR moves here.

I'll probably have more later. I'm watching the Badgers on BTN right now.

Crew gives up lead to Giants, lose

The Brewers scored two runs in the first inning Friday, but the lead wouldn't last. The San Francisco Giants came back to beat the Crew, 3-2. Game two is Saturday at 3:05PM CDT.

Favre $10K lighter

Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre was fined $10,000 Friday for that illegal crackback block he did against the Texans' Eugene Wilson this past Monday.

My blog about the play in question is here. I guess the NFL made You Tube pull the plug on the video.

Pack drop exhibition finale to Titans

The dreaded exhibition season is finally over! The Packers lost to the Tennessee Titans Thursday. The final score was 27-13. The real season starts for the Pack on Sunday, September 13 against the HATED BEARS! The game will be televised nationally on NBC at 7:20PM CDT.

Crew salvage finale in St. Louis

The Brewers, behind starter Manny Parra, were able to escape St. Louis with a win Thursday. The final score was 4-3. The Crew head home for six games against likely playoff teams. Can you say "spoiler?" Anyway, the first three against the San Francisco Giants begins at 7:05PM CDT Friday.

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

Bush gets roughed up at Busch

Brewers starting pitcher Dave Bush got roughed up Wednesday at Busch Stadium III in St. Louis. The bullpen was warming up in the second inning with no outs as the Crew was down 5-1. Bush then was able to get the Cards to hit into a double play. The Cardinals still won by a score of 10-3. The Brewers will hope to avoid a sweep Thursday at 1:15PM CDT.

Tuesday, September 1, 2009

Crew tries, can't comeback against Cards

Brewers 3B Casey McGehee hit a three-run home run in the first inning Tuesday, but the Cardinals proved to be too much for the Crew in St. Louis. The Cardinals took game one by a score of 7-6. Game two is Wednesday at 7:15PM CDT.

Favre now resorting to dirty plays in exhibition season

Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre, lining up in the slot on a unconventional gadget play (AKA Wildcat formation play) in the third quarter Monday, threw an illegal "crackback block" on Houston Texans' safety Eugene Wilson. Wilson had to leave the game with an undetermined injury. Have a look below:

What next for Favre? Is he going to pull out a gun, like from the movie "The Last Boy Scout" and start shooting?

Favre believes he may have cracked rib

Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre told ESPN's Monday Night Football crew Monday that he might have a cracked rib.

Did he seek a medical diagnosis from team physicians? I think something's cracked alright, but it's usually covered by a helmet or his baseball cap.

Suppan has GWRBI in Crew's sweep of Bucs

Talk about helping the team win - Brewers starter Jeff Suppan drew a bases-loaded walk Sunday to force the game-winning run in. The Brewers hold on to sweep the Pirates Sunday. The final score was 4-1. After a day off Monday, the Crew head to St. Louis for three games. Game one is Tuesday at 7:15PM CDT.

Are you ready for some football? BRING IT ON!

I was just reading some of the blogs that I watch, and was reading a post from Ol' Bag of Donuts. I agree. Bring on THE BEARS!

Mercury Marine begins transition to Oklahoma

Mercury Marine, based in Fond du Lac, Wis., is starting to transition work to its facility in Oklahoma. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Lodge 1947 (IAM) conducted an emergency second vote on the company's concession proposal, but couldn't get it done by Midnight CDT Sunday morning. As such, the company said it will no longer honor ballots cast after the deadline.

I guess the union should have been quicker on this. Oh well.

Crew win second straight at home

It wasn't a walk in the park, but the Brewers won their second straight game Saturday over the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Crew scored two in the third before the Bucs scored three in the fifth to temporarily take the lead. The Brewers were able to slowly add more runs before finally beating Pittsburgh, 7-3. The Crew will try for a sweep Sunday at 1:05PM CDT.

Packers show Cards a full house (of talent)

The Packers played their first exhibition game away from home Friday in Glendale, Ariz. The first-string offense looked sharp as they were able to amass 31 points in the first half over the defending NFC Champion Arizona Cardinals. Coupled with LB/DE Aaron Kampman's fumble return for another score, they lead 38-10 at halftime. The back-ups made it a lot more interesting in the second half, but the Pack still won and went 3-0. The final score was Packers 44, Cardinals 37. The fourth and final game of the exhibition season is Thursday, September 3 at 7:05PM CDT. They will take on the Tennessee Titans in Nashville.

Friday, August 28, 2009

Fielder hits another homer in first, Crew beats Bucs

For the second straight game, Brewers' 1B Prince Fielder hit a 3-run home run in the first inning Friday. Unlike the previous day against the Reds, the Crew held on to beat the Pittsburgh Pirates. The final score was 8-6. Game two is Saturday at 6:05PM CDT.

Thursday, August 27, 2009

Hoffman claimed on waivers???

There are numerous reports that the Milwaukee Brewers placed RHP Trevor Hoffman on waivers and a team placed a claim. It is not known which team claimed Hoffman, and also not known if the Brewers will work out a trade or pull Hoffman back. I guess, if true, that the Crew is looking forward to next year already. They are only 5 games below .500 with 35 games left to play.

I think it's time to COMPLETELY clean house. Get rid of Doug Melvin and everyone below him.

Crew swept by Reds

The Brewers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after one inning Thursday against the Cincinnati Reds. It didn't last. The Reds completed the sweep of the Crew by winning, 8-5. The Brewers next welcome the Pittsburgh Pirates into town over the weekend for three games. Game one is Friday at 7:05PM CDT.

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

Crew drop another extra inning game to Reds

For the second straight day, the Brewers go extra innings against the Reds. For the second straight day, the Brewers lose an extra inning game against the Reds. This time, the Reds win 4-3 in 10 innings. The Crew will try to avoid a sweep Thursday at 1:05PM CDT.

Tuesday, August 25, 2009

Brewers lose to Reds in 13

The Brewers had a big five-run rally Tuesday in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game against the Reds at 6. It wasn't enough as the Reds hit two solo home runs in the 13th inning to win, 8-6. Game two is Wednesday at 7:05PM CDT.

Monday, August 24, 2009

Brewers win series against Nationals

The Brewers were down 1-0 Monday when they erupted for six runs in the top of the sixth inning. They added another run in the eighth to beat the Washington Nationals, 7-1. The Brewers now head home for six games against the Reds and Pirates. Game one of three against the Cincinnati Reds is Tuesday at 7:05PM CDT.

Sounds like Jerry needs to sit in the corner again...

This past Friday, the Dallas Cowboys hosted their first game in their new home, Cowboys Stadium. They played the Tennessee Titans and the stadium's new scoreboard caused a few in-game issues...it hangs 90 feet above the field. To quote Titans punter Craig Hentrich, "I hit it probably a dozen times in pregame." Cowboys owner Jerry Jones refuses to have the scoreboard raised for NFL games, even though he can. The band U2 is playing there in October and one of their stage props is 164 feet high, so the scoreboard will have to be raised.

Maybe it's time that the NFL sits Jones in a corner as punishment, since he's getting out of hand again...

Sunday, August 23, 2009

Parra, Brewers can't catch a break against Nats

Brewers starter Manny Parra gave up five earned runs in 3⅓ innings Sunday. Problem is, his team only scored three runs themselves. The Nationals take game three by a score of 8-3. The Crew can still win this series by taking game four Monday at 3:35PM CDT.

Saturday, August 22, 2009

Brewers win second straight Saturday

The Brewers came out swinging Saturday against the Washington Nationals and won their second straight. The Crew won by a score of 11-9. They will try for a series win Sunday at 12:35PM CDT.

Packers roll over T.O.-less Bills

Buffalo Bills WR Terrell Owens didn't play Saturday against the Packers, but the way the Bills first-string was, it probably didn't matter. The Packers rolled over the Bills, 31-21. The third game of the exhibition season is Friday, August 28th at 9:00PM CDT against the Arizona Cardinals in Glendale, Ariz.

Want to forget Favre?

There's a new website by another Packers fan offering shirts, banners, mouse pads, etc. for sale with such slogans as "Un 4 Givable," "4 Get Brett," "Brett Who?" I like this, but I wish the shirts came in black also. They currently come in just white. White shirts do not mix with me.

Crew gets swept by the lowly Bucs

It doesn't get much worse than this. The Brewers were swept by the Pittsburgh Pirates Wednesday. Wasn't it just earlier this year that the Crew OWNED the Pirates? Anyway, the Pirates won by a score of 3-1. The Brewers get a day off Thursday to dwell over this before starting a four-game series in Washington against the Nationals. Game one is Friday at 6:05PM CDT.

Favre has Green Bay fuming

I just read an article by Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson Wednesday, and he hit the nail on the head. Brett Favre, who signed a 2-year contract Tuesday to be the quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings said, “If you’re a true Packer fan, you understand.”

I AM a true PACKER fan, not a FAVRE fan. Although I loved having Favre play for the Packers, he no longer plays for the Packers. That is pretty much how most TRUE PACKER fans will see him now --- as the enemy. I've been a Packer fan since the early '80s, about 10 years before Favre was traded to the Packers from the Falcons. I thank Favre for his 16 years of playing for the Packers, but now he is enemy since he crossed that bitter rivalry line. He will have his #4 retired someday, but it will most likely be posthumously now. If you think true Packer fans will support you now that you pretty much thumbed your nose at the Packers tradition and signed with the hated Vikings, you are sadly mistaken.

Parra, Crew can't overtake Bucs

Brewers LHP Manny Parra allowed three earned runs in six innings Tuesday, but his team could only manage to score two of their own. The Pirates beat the Brewers, 5-2. The Crew will try to avoid a sweep Wednesday at 6:05PM CDT, before heading to Washington for the weekend.

'Benedict Brett' meets with Minnesota media

I'm listening to some great B.S. coming out of Favre's mouth right now, and doing everything I can to keep from punching the television. I hope he gets carted off the field with a career-ending injury. Rot in hell, you traitor!!!

Vikings sign Favre

This was expected, but the Minnesota Vikings have officially signed QB Brett Favre. Terms were not disclosed.

Favre OFFICIALLY at Vikings headquarters

BREAKING NEWS: QB Brett Favre, at 12:09PM CDT Tuesday, has just arrived at Minnesota Vikings headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minn. Reports are out that Favre will sign with the Vikings, pending a physical.

Here's video footage of Favre arriving (from KSTP 5):

Bucs beat Crew Monday

The Pittsburgh Pirates' offense got going against Brewers' starter Carlos Villanueva Monday on their way to beating the Crew, 9-5. Game two is Tuesday at 6:05PM CDT.

Reader's Digest to file for Chapter 11 protection

Reader's Digest Association, publisher of magazine Reader's Digest, announced Monday that it will file for Chapter 11 protection. The plan is to swap debt for ownership in the company.

Well, this explains a lot. My wife and I cancelled our subscription over the past year amid the magazine re-designing itself around January 2008. It just wasn't the same magazine anymore. Reader's Digest became overzealous in trying to win us back. Now I know why they were being so pushy...

Weathers blows save as Crew can't sweep

Although Prince Fielder made it look interesting at the end of the game Sunday, the Brewers just couldn't sweep the Astros. Reliever David Weathers gave up the lead on a home run to Hunter Pence, and the Astros won by a score of 8-5. The Brewers embark on a seven-game road trip to Pittsburgh and the nation's capital. Three games at PNC Park start Monday at 6:05PM CDT.

Packers blank Browns in exhibition debut

The Packers shut out the Cleveland Browns Saturday in their first exhibition game of the season. The final score was 17-0. The next game is Saturday, August 22 at 7:00PM CDT. They will take on the Buffalo Bills at Lambeau Field then.

After watching the game against the Browns, I have this funny feeling that Browns coach Eric Mangini was holding back for the regular season game. I don't expect much in a couple weeks against the Cardinals either.

Crew wins third straight

The Brewers did something Saturday that they haven't done in a while - win three games in a row. The Crew beat the Astros, 6-2. They now go after a series sweep Sunday at 1:05PM CDT.

Friday, August 14, 2009

Brewers clobber Astros

The Brewers clobbered the Houston Astros Friday by scoring eight runs in the first inning. The Crew ended up winning, 11-2. Game two is Saturday at 6:05PM CDT.

Brewers avoid being swept by Padres

The home run bombs were bursting through the air Thursday as the Brewers made sure that they won one game against the Padres at home this year. Prince Fielder and Mike Rivera each had two homers and Ryan Braun chimed in with a fifth bomb. The Crew win by a score of 12-9. The Astros come into town for three games over the weekend. Game one is Friday at 7:05PM CDT.

Mich. prison considered for Gitmo detainees

Brewers come up short in answering Padres

After an eventful day Wednesday with personnel moves, the Brewers tried to match the Padres run-for-run in the seventh inning. They couldn't overtake the four runs that the Padres scored in that inning as San Diego won, 6-5. The Crew will try to avoid being swept Thursday at 1:05PM CDT. I'm getting tired of that phrase used in almost every series. C'mon Brewers! Let's kick it into high gear already!

Brewers shake things up Wednesday

The Milwaukee Brewers made several moves Wednesday, in an effort to shake the slumping team.
  • They dismissed pitching coach Bill Castro, naming Chris Bosio as his replacement.
  • Optioned SS J.J. Hardy and calling up Alcides Escobar to take Hardy's spot.
  • Designated IF Bill Hall for assignment. They called up OF Jason Bourgeois to take Hall's spot.
Hopefully this will shake the Crew up enough that they can re-gain first place.

Illegal U-turns getting out of hand

At the Oak Creek, WI intersections of 13th St. and Rawson Ave., as well as the pair of intersections of I-94 and Rawson Ave., there is a massive amount of illegal U-turns. It is getting dangerous. Some vehicles are even proceeding through a RED LIGHT while making a U-turn. In case you weren't aware of the Wisconsin statute pertaining to this, read below:

346.33 Where turns prohibited, exception. (1) The operator of a vehicle shall not turn the vehicle so as to proceed in the opposite direction upon a highway at any of the following places:
(a) At any intersection at which traffic is being controlled by traffic control signals or by a traffic officer;

Astros' Blum provides only offense Sunday

Houston Astros 3B Geoff Blum hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning Sunday. That was the scoring needed in a pitching duel between the Brewers' Yovani Gallardo and the Astros' Wandy Rodriguez. The final score was 2-0 Astros. After a day off Monday, the Brewers open up a three game series at home against the San Diego Padres Tuesday. Game one is at 7:05PM CDT.

Crew getting 'Stormy' again

The Milwaukee Brewers acquired a familiar face for the bullpen Sunday. They acquired RHP David Weathers from the Cincinnati Reds for a player to be named later. Weathers previously pitched for the Brewers from 1998 to 2001.

Jason Michaels, Astros beat Crew

CF Jason Michaels of the Houston Astros made the Brewers pay Friday for walking his teammate, Darin Erstad, in the sixth inning. Michaels emptied the bases with a three-run home run to put the Astros ahead for good. Brewers C Jason Kendall did get his first home run of the year, socking a two-run shot in the fifth inning. The Astros ended up winning by a score of 6-3. Game two is Saturday at 6:05PM CDT.

You think Homer Simpson gave them the idea?

The 2009 Wisconsin State Fair opened Thursday and one of the interesting foods to try is chocolate-covered bacon. The first thing I thought of was an episode of "The Simpsons" where the two collide, ala Reese's. I tried to link a video, but couldn't find one.

Who does Crabtree think he is?

In April of this year, the San Francisco 49ers selected Texas Tech WR Michael Crabtree with the 10th pick overall in the NFL Draft. Unless crybaby Crabtree gets more money than Darrius Heyward-Bey (#7 overall by cross-bay Oakland Raiders), he will sit out this year and throw a temper tantrum. WAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This little crybaby is exactly what's wrong with signing these prima donnas to lucrative contracts WITHOUT PLAYING A SINGLE PROFESSIONAL DOWN! Crabtree is going as far as using "mock drafts" to help negotiate his contract. His antics are screwing up the Packers' chances of signing DT B.J. Raji, who was selected one slot ahead of Crybaby-tree. I hope the crybaby from Texas Tech signs and plays on November 22 against the Pack, so Atari Bigby can drill him into EARLY RETIREMENT!

Brewers take series over Dodgers

Brewers RHP Braden Looper gave up a lead-off home run to the Dodgers' Rafael Furcal Wednesday. That would be the only run that the home team would score. The Crew take the game and the series by winning, 4-1. After a day off Thursday, they now travel to Houston over the weekend. Game one against the Astros is Friday at 7:05PM CDT.

Anybody know anything about this?

This photo from JS Online is of fresh graffiti at the Marquette Interchange found early Wednesday morning. Call the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department if you have more information on this --- or spray paint the guilty party like they did to this beautiful wall. Your choice.

Brewers on wrong end of heated rout

I'm sure that Brewers RHP Yovani Gallardo didn't envision that his start Tuesday at Dodger Stadium would entail allowing four runs in his first inning of work. Gallardo did settle down a bit...that is until the Dodgers hung a seven spot in the sixth inning. Although Gallardo exited after allowing nine earned runs, the bullpen didn't stop the bloodshed. They also erupted for another five in the eighth. The Dodgers won by a score of 17-4. 1B Prince Fielder didn't take kindly to being hit by a pitch thrown from former teammate Guillermo Mota in the ninth inning and ran towards the Dodgers' clubhouse after the game. He was subdued by security before his teammates could catch up with him. This should be an interesting rubber game Wednesday at 9:10PM CDT.

Packers GM won't rule out interest in Vick

Green Bay Packers GM Ted Thompson was asked Tuesday about the team's interest in Michael Vick, and Thompson didn't rule it out.

Message to Thompson: STAY AWAY FROM VICK. WE DON'T NEED THOSE WHACKOS FROM PETA AROUND LAMBEAU FIELD.

Brewers hold on to beat Dodgers

After Dodgers LHP Clayton Kershaw helped the Brewers Monday by walking in two runs for the Crew, it looked like the Brewers would have an easy ride to a win. LF Ryan Braun even helped with a 3-run home run in the sixth inning. Entering the ninth inning, the Brewers were leading 6-2 and starter Manny Parra was on his way to a complete game. Well, Parra needed help. Closer Trevor Hoffman entered the game and was close to blowing his third save when he was able to get Dodgers OF Manny Ramirez to pop up with the bases loaded. The Crew held on to win, 6-5. Game two is Tuesday at 9:10PM CDT.

Sunday, August 2, 2009

Once again, Brewers avoid being swept

The Brewers played to win and...surprisingly won Sunday. The Crew avoid a sweep by the Padres by beating San Diego, 6-1. They now travel north on I-5 to Los Angeles for three games. Game one against the Dodgers is Monday at 9:10PM CDT.

Cop falls off bridge trying to clock speeders

A cop fell off a overpass Wednesday. He was leaning over the edge of the bridge with a radar gun trying to catch speeders. Approx. 4-5 other officers were waiting for him to radio which cars to stop.

This is getting ridiculous. What if someone ran over and killed him on the highway below? Is it possible for law enforcement agencies to use their heads, instead of doing stupid things? This isn't the first time something like this has happened, and it probably won't be the last. Is death going to end this? Use your head!!!

Apple's iPhone vulnerable to hacker attacks

Security experts have uncovered flaws in Apple's iPhone that hackers can use to take control of it, including knocking the phone off of the subscriber's phone network. Apple was informed of this earlier this month, yet hasn't taken any action to fix the problem.

This is WAY too funny! lol

Packers reportedly agree to terms with rookie LB Matthews

The Green Bay Packers reportedly agree to terms with LB Clay Matthews on a five year contract. I can't find a official source, neither the Packers nor the NFL have announced it yet.

Brewers earn series split with Nationals

The Milwaukee Brewers were able to usher the surprisingly feisty Washington Nationals out of town with a series split Thursday, this after the Nats took the first two games. The final score was 7-3. The Crew will now head out for a nine-game road trip, starting in San Diego to face the Padres. Game one is Friday at 9:05PM CDT.

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

Brewers FINALLY beat the Nationals

Well, at least the Brewers avoided a sweep by the worst team in baseball Wednesday. Casey McGehee hit a pinch-hit home run to put the Crew on top for good. The final score was 7-5. The Brewers will try for a split in the series Thursday at 1:05PM CDT.

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

Nats keep pummeling Crew

The Washington Nationals, the worst team in Major League Baseball, don't look it in their series with the Milwaukee Brewers. The Nats exploded for four runs in the fourth inning Tuesday as they cruise to a 8-3 win over the Crew. The Brewers will re-group Wednesday to try to at least win one game in this four-game series. First pitch Wednesday is 7:05PM CDT.

Eagles' Jim Johnson passes away

2008 Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson passed away from cancer Tuesday. He was 68.

Johnson took an indefinite leave of absence earlier this year to focus on his fight with cancer. The Eagles announced earlier this month that Sean McDermott would be the defensive coordinator in 2009.

My wife and I went to see "G-Force," the Walt Disney-Jerry Bruckheimer computer-animated movie about cavies (guinea pigs) earlier Sunday. We don't have children, but we do have four cavies at home. Neither one of us was really impressed with it, but enough families went to see it this weekend to make it number one at the box office ($32.2 million).

NFL moves 2010 Draft start day to Thursday

The National Football League announced Thursday that they are moving the 2010 NFL Draft start day to Thursday, instead of Saturday. The first round will take place on Thursday night, rounds 2-3 will take place on Friday, and the remaining four rounds will take place on Saturday.

I was afraid that this would happen. They will find out that this will hurt the ratings in the long run. As a truck driver who works Monday through Friday nights, the former format was perfect. With this new format, I would have to take two personal/vacation days just to watch the whole thing.

After a two hour rain delay Monday in Pittsburgh, the Brewers were finally able to get under way with the Pirates. Then Lopez was promptly picked off first base. Later in the first inning, the Brewers scored the first run --- and that would be the only lead they would have. Why won't Sotomayor answer questions?

U.S. Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor won't answer questions asked of her on her views of certain subjects. Either way, it doesn't matter too much to me. I just figure that if members of Congress keep asking her the same questions on her views, she might as well answer them. Who knows, it might make life a bit easier for those involved. Just saying...

Happy Birthday, bro!

We Energies website is a joke!

I just finished paying the electric bill to We Energies with my credit card on their website. Will someone help them with their website? Every month I have to spend 10-15 minutes to locate the online payment feature. Is it too much to ask to have a link readily available instead of navigating through their FAQ page for the link? This stresses me out greatly. :(

Illinois Tollway abuses their customers severely

This is Tollway robbery! I'm stuck on I-294 SB on Mile Long Bridge. :(

UPDATED (July 10, 7:44AM CDT): I'm getting a little tired of the Illinois Tollway bending me over and telling me to quit crying and just take it already. I spent approximately 60 minutes stuck in traffic just to go 2 miles Thursday night on the Tri-State Tollway. I don't have a problem with them doing nighttime roadwork, but I wish they would help alleviate some of this stuck traffic by letting someone know about their lane closures. Other toll roads let people know about severely constricted lanes. Most people will still use the toll road. It would be courteous. The Illinois Tollway WILL CLOSE THE ?#$@&*% TOLLWAY for 20 minutes at a time to put up girders and not put up a SINGLE ?#$@&*% SIGN TO WARN OF SUCH AN ACTION.

The TV stations there were Favre this or Favre that.
